Platform Updates (Q1-Q2 2026)
- Instagram: Officially shifted to a 5-hashtag limit per post. The algorithm now prioritizes “Originality Signals” and Watch Time over likes. Broadcast channels now support direct “Shop-to-Chat” integration, and Reels have been extended to 20 minutes.
- TikTok: US TikTok Shop revenue is on track for $87B this year. “Search Ads” now account for 25% of platform revenue as Social SEO effectively replaces traditional hashtags for Gen Z.
- YouTube: “Shorts Carousels” (image-only) are now native. AI-dubbing for global reach is standard for all creators. A new “Auto-Tagging” system automatically identifies products in video frames and links them to shops.
