Platform Updates (March 2026)
- Instagram: Now strictly limits posts to 5 hashtags, signaling a total transition to AI-driven semantic search. “Watch-through rate” is now the #1 ranking factor, outweighing likes or saves.
- TikTok: US TikTok Shop revenue is now on track for $87B this year. The “Social Search” behavior is dominant; 60% of Gen Z now starts product discovery on TikTok rather than Google.
- YouTube: Automated Product Tagging is now native. AI scans video frames, identifies products, and inserts shoppable links automatically. “Shorts” now account for 50% of total platform watch time.
